Action > PreTens

Activating pre-tensioned tendons (strands). The action simulates the process of removing the formwork from prefabricated girders and cutting the connection of the strands to external anchor points. The losses due to elastic shortening are calculated and the resulting internal force state (primary state) is stored in the specified load case.

Note: All affected precast girders must be active and statically determinately supported.

Setting	Description
Action	Code of the selected Action. It is possible to switch to another action without leaving and re-entering the input function.
Action will be skipped (Option)	The action will be skipped in the calculation process if the option is selected.
Input-1 > Tendon From/To/Step	Tendon series to be processed (not necessary if tendons defined with RmSet)
Input-2 > RmSet or Assembly	Name of the RmSet or Assembly containing the tendons to be processed (not necessary if tendons directly defined in Input-1). Note: If tendons are specified via RmSet/Assembly as well as directly in Input-1, both definitions will be considered; i.e. all tendons defined in the RmSet/Assembly, and additionally all tendons specified in Input-1 irrespective of being part of the RmSet/Assembly will be processed.
Input-3 > Factor for Emod	Factor for reducing the effective elasticity modulus of the concrete in the calculation of effective prestressing forces (losses due to elastic shortening). This allows for taking into account that formwork removal is done before the nominal modulus of elasticity (28 days modulus) has been reached. Default: 1.0 (nominal modulus of the concrete material is effective)
Output-1 > Load case name	Name of the created load case, where the results of the calculation will be stored. Note: If the load case has not been previously defined in the load case definition function, it will get the flag "Non-Permanent" and no load case category label for the load manager. I.e. it is strongly recommended that the load case be previously defined in the load case definition menu with appropriate flags.
